Six die in Abuja Market inferno

Six people have reportedly died in a fire that broke out at Tippee Market on 3rd Avenue, Gwarinpa in Abuja on Thursday while several others were injured.
It was learnt that the fire started from a spark in one of the shops and raged on for about two hours before the arrival of the Federal Fire Service.
The firefighters were said to have arrived at the scene around 2am after the market had been engulfed by fire.
Five bodies were recovered from the fire and taken to the morgue.
One was burnt to ashes while those injured were rushed to the hospital.
However, hoodlums in the vicinity took advantage of the situation to vandalise the shops and carry out other nefarious activities before the firefighters arrived.
