Stop patronising unregistered estate agents, ERCAAN warns clients

The Estate, Rents and Commission Agents Association of Nigeria (ERCAAN), has warned prospective clients to desist from patronising unregistered estate agents to avoid being duped.
The association appealed that only registered members of the association should be patronised to avoid the dangers inherent in dealing with unregistered agents.
Speaking to LagosStreetJournal, The Acting Chairman of Estate, Rents and Commission Agents Association of Nigeria (ERCAAN), Isolo/Ishaga/Ire-Akari Zone, Hon. Ganiyu Aro, informed that the incorporation of his zone which was done recently by the state and national bodies led by the president, Hon. Godwin Alenkhe and Lagos State Coordinator, Hon. Kassim Adeshina would give prospective clients in Oshodi-Isolo more confidence when dealing with any registered estate agent in the community.
According to him, the zone which has more than 70 members across the community is the 66th the body has across Lagos State.
He, however, advised his fellow members to uphold the honesty, truthfulness and integrity the association is known for.
His words: “I feel so excited that this zone is incorporated during my time. We’ve always wanted to get it incorporated into ERCAAN long time ago. I’m so happy that it has become a reality now. After the inauguration, we will have an election to elect executive members as there are more than 70 estate agents who are our members in the zone.
“My advice to my fellow members is that they should be trustworthy in their dealings and uphold what ERCAAN is known for which are truthfulness, honesty, integrity. And also to our prospective clients out there, they should be wary of patronising unregistered estate agents in this community who does not belong to ERCAAN.”
