Amotekun officially commences operation in Ogun

The Western Nigeria Security Network (WNSN) codenamed Operation Amotekun will now officially operate in Ogun State as the governor of the state, Dapo Abiodun, inaugurated the security outfit on Thursday.

The inauguration took place in Abeokuta, the state capital.

The governor also commissioned scores of patrol vans and motorcycles to aid the operations of the Amotekun Corps.

Operation Amotekun was created by the six governors of the South-West over the insecurity in the region.

Ondo, Oyo and Ekiti states have since kick-started the operations of the security outfit.
