8 injured as truck rams into vehicles on Otedola Bridge
At least eight people were hospitalised after a truck rammed into eight vehicles on the Otedola Bridge section of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Wednesday night.
This came barely 24 hours after a truck crushed a tricyclist to death in the Ekoro area of the state in the early hours of the same day.
It was learnt on Thursday from a statement by the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command that the truck was heading outwards Lagos when the accident occurred.
The terse statement identified the vehicles involved in the accident as one truck, two passenger buses, five cars, and one minibus.
“More than eight passengers sustained serious injuries at the Otedola Bridge, outward Lagos, when a loaded truck rammed into two 18-seater buses, one minibus, and five cars.
“The injured have been rushed to the Accident and Emergency Centre, Old Toll Gate, for medical attention,” the statement read.
As the festive period approaches, road crashes are becoming a recurring decimal across Lagos State.
