Tinubu: Eze slams Lagos APC for tagging Amaechi ‘rejected Rivers politician’
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the South-South, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has slammed the Lagos chapter of the party for declaring a former Rivers State governor, Chibuike Amaechi, a stranded politician.
Eze reminded the Lagos APC that the party would not have been in existence without the efforts of the former Minister of Transportation and many others.
In a statement on Wednesday, the APC in Lagos State had described Amaechi as a rejected Rivers politician, insisting the former governor lacks the wherewithal to lead a revolt against President Bola Tinubu’s reelection in 2027.
The party made the statement through its spokesperson, Mogaji Seye Oladejo, in reaction to the former Minister’s call for Nigerians to mobilize massively to unseat the Tinubu administration in the next general election.
Eze, in a statement directed to the APC Lagos, described the remark as ridiculous and untutored, adding that it is borne out of sheer sycophancy.
Eze said that the former governor has not been rejected by his people under any credible election, insisting that it is President Tinubu and the APC who suffered rejection in Lagos in 2023 and are currently suffering rejection by Nigerians.
He believes that the next presidential election would be President Tinubu against the people of Nigeria, and not any opposition platform.
“The country is far worse than the Abacha years, even with the monumental oil wealth we have reaped under Tinubu’s watch as head of the federal government,” Eze, who is also one of the leading figures that brought the APC to life prior to the 2015 general election, said.
“And in their absurd timidity, they decide to keep mum; they should not turn themselves into presidential attack-dogs…”
The APC chieftain advised the former Transportation Minister to remain focused in his drive to raise consciousness among the populace.
