Lagos Gov Sanwo-Olu flags off TY Logistics Park, says project will deepen state’ economic growth
Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said the newly inaugurated TY Logistics Park in the Alaro Free Zone, Lekki, will serve as a major catalyst for economic expansion and improved commercial efficiency in the state.
The governor, who performed the official opening alongside Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, described the multi-billion-naira investment as a strategic boost to Lagos’ logistics architecture and a strong vote of confidence in the state’s fast-growing industrial corridor.
The facility, developed under the leadership of TY Logistics Park Chairman, Theo Danjuma, sits on 29,000 square metres and comes fitted with advanced warehouse management technologies.
Sanwo-Olu said such world-class infrastructure will not only enhance the movement of goods across Lagos and Nigeria but also position the state as a dominant logistics hub for the West African sub-region.
Highlighting ongoing upgrades within the Lekki industrial axis, the governor disclosed that work is progressing on a seven-axial logistics road that will directly link the Lekki Port, Dangote Refinery, and Alaro City.
According to him, the project forms part of a broader plan to ease traffic pressure on the Lekki-Epe Expressway and unlock greater economic value for businesses operating in the corridor.
Sanwo-Olu urged more investors to take advantage of Lagos’ increasingly enabling business environment, noting that the state continues to lead national rankings in ease of doing business.
He added that projects like the TY Logistics Park would remain central to Lagos’ long-term economic growth narrative.
Taraba State Governor, Dr. Kefas, who commended the initiative, said the project underscores the potential of inter-state partnerships to drive new trade opportunities.
Chairman of TY Logistics Park, Theo Danjuma, explained that the vision began four years ago after his retirement from military and conceptualise the idea to build a globally competitive logistics hub.
Director of Alaro City Logistics, Steven Jennings, said that the establishment signals confidence in Africa’s economic future and Lagos’ rising industrial prospects.
