Five fuel vessels arrive in Lagos as supply worries intensify
Five gasoline-laden tankers delivering petrol and diesel have arrived in Lagos, relieving fears about the reliability of Nigeria’s fuel supply.
Within 48 hours, the tankers transported a total of 95,000 metric tonnes of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) to the Apapa and Tin Can Islands ports.
According to data from the Nigerian Ports Authority Daily Shipping Position, the vessels berthed on Friday, March 27, and Sunday, March 29, 2026.
Details from the report show that a vessel identified as Hudson docked at the New Oil Jetty in Apapa on March 27, discharging 22,000 metric tonnes of diesel.
Another vessel, Kingis, was scheduled to deliver 15,000 metric tonnes of petrol through the Lister Oil Jetty at Apapa Port on the same day. Similarly, Leste arrived via the Bulk Oil Plant Terminal on Saturday with a cargo of 20,000 metric tonnes of diesel.
At Tin Can Island Port, Savanna berthed at the Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Phase 3 on Friday with 16,000 metric tonnes of petrol, while Kobe arrived at KLT Phase 2 on Sunday, delivering 22,000 metric tonnes of diesel.
