Lagos: Roadside vendor crushed to death in fatal accident

A roadside vendor died in a fatal road accident in Lagos State’s Okokomaiko region.

The incident occurred on Sunday and involved a Lexus Jeep with registration number SMK 674 HY, which reportedly struck the victim, an adult man, killing him at the spot.

According to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the intensity of the hit resulted in the victim’s immediate death.

According to the agency’s Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment, Adebayo Taofiq, LASTMA operatives were dispatched to the location immediately to control the situation and prevent traffic interruption.

The officials secured the area and removed the remains from the roadway to facilitate the smooth flow of vehicles.

Police personnel from the Ketu Division later transported the body to the Badagry Mortuary, while preliminary investigations have commenced to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
