The Lagos State Task Force has impounded 309 commercial motorcycles and dismantled illegal structures during an enforcement operation along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.

The operation, carried out in collaboration with relevant government agencies and security personnel, targeted motorcycles operating on restricted routes, street trading, and other environmental violations along the corridor.

According to the agency, the exercise covered several areas, including Orile-Iganmu, Mile 2, Mazamaza, Festac, Iyana-Iba, Alaba Rago, Old Ojo Road and other parts of the Lagos-Badagry corridor.

The task force also cleared illegal kiosks, makeshift stalls, shanties and unauthorised wooden structures obstructing public spaces. Other items removed included abandoned materials and objects contributing to congestion and environmental concerns along the highway.

The agency said the enforcement was aimed at improving traffic flow, restoring order and ensuring compliance with Lagos State transport and environmental regulations.

The Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force, Adetayo Akerele, said the government would continue to enforce regulations against activities that threaten public safety, create congestion and degrade the environment.

The task force added that the impounded motorcycles would be processed in line with existing laws governing commercial motorcycle operations in the state
