President Bola Tinubu has disclosed the demands made by terrorists who abducted pupils and teachers from schools in Oyo State before they were rescued by security operatives.

Tinubu said the terrorists demanded a ransom, the release of some of their detained commanders and other concessions in exchange for the victims’ freedom.

According to the President, the Federal Government rejected the demands and refused to negotiate with the kidnappers, insisting that no ransom was paid and no concession was granted.

He maintained that the victims were eventually rescued through coordinated efforts by security agencies after weeks in captivity.

Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to tackling terrorism and other security threats across the country, stressing that the government would not yield to pressure from criminal groups.
