ADC asks Tinubu to explain ‘all is fair in politics’ remark
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called on President Bola Tinubu to clarify his recent remark that “all is fair in politics.”
The party said the statement, made by Tinubu on July 29, had generated concerns about the principles guiding political conduct in the country.
The ADC urged the President to explain what he meant by the comment and whether it was intended to suggest that political actors could adopt any means necessary to achieve their objectives.
The opposition party argued that such a position could have serious implications for Nigeria’s democracy, particularly at a time when political activities are intensifying ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The ADC stressed the need for political leaders to uphold democratic values, fairness and respect for the rule of law in the conduct of political affairs.
The party therefore urged Tinubu to publicly clarify the statement and reassure Nigerians that his administration remains committed to democratic principles and credible political processes.
