Funke Akindele urges Nigerians to keep praying for Nigeria
Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has urged Nigerians to continue praying for the country as Nigeria marks its 66th Independence Day.
Akindele made the call in an Independence Day message shared on Thursday, October 1, 2026.
She acknowledged the challenges facing the country but said Nigerians should continue to hope and pray for a better Nigeria.
“Let’s keep praying for our dear country,” Akindele said.
The actress said Nigeria’s independence remained worth celebrating despite the difficulties confronting citizens.
She also encouraged Nigerians to remain hopeful as the country marks another anniversary of its independence from British colonial rule.
Nigeria gained independence on October 1, 1960, and is marking its 66th Independence Anniversary in 2026.
