Lagos Rep Ogbara Declines Handshake With APC Candidate Oshinowo
A member of the House of Representatives, Kafilat Ogbara, has declined to shake hands with Dele Oshinowo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Kosofe Federal Constituency in the 2027 general election.
The incident occurred at the inaugural Seyi Tinubu Colloquium in Lagos when Oshinowo, a former chairman of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area, approached Ogbara and extended his hand in greeting.
In a video of the encounter, Ogbara remained seated and turned away from Oshinowo.
“Welldone, how are you? I cannot shake you,” she was heard saying.
Oshinowo reacted before walking away from the lawmaker.
The encounter comes after Oshinowo defeated Ogbara in the APC primary for the Kosofe federal constituency seat in May 2026.
Oshinowo reportedly polled 18,614 votes to emerge as the party’s candidate for the 2027 House of Representatives election.
Ogbara currently represents Kosofe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
The two politicians have previously been involved in political disagreements, including a dispute in 2025 over the demolition of Owode-Onirin market.
