Former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has said President Bola Tinubu does not deserve a second term in office ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Kwankwaso’s position comes amid growing political activities and preparations by opposition parties to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next general election.

The former governor has been critical of the Tinubu administration, particularly over its economic policies and their impact on Nigerians.

Tinubu, who won the 2023 presidential election on the platform of the APC, is seeking re-election in 2027.

Kwankwaso, a former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has also been involved in discussions surrounding opposition efforts to build a strong alternative to the ruling party.

The former Kano governor’s remarks add to the growing criticism of Tinubu’s re-election bid as opposition figures intensify their campaigns ahead of the polls.

However, the president and the APC have continued to defend the administration’s policies, arguing that ongoing reforms are aimed at stabilising the economy and improving the country’s long-term prospects.
