Trump Dismisses Impeachment Fears After Democrats Take Control Of Congress

US President Donald Trump has dismissed concerns that Democrats could move to impeach him after securing control of both chambers of Congress in Tuesday’s midterm elections.

The Democrats defeated the Republicans in the elections, taking control of the Senate and House of Representatives and raising concerns among Trump’s supporters about possible impeachment proceedings.

However, Trump said any attempt by Democrats to impeach him would have serious political consequences for the party.

Speaking during an interview with Fox News on Wednesday, the US president questioned the grounds for any impeachment move against him.

“Impeachment for no reason… What, for having a successful country? Our country is more successful now than at any time in its history,” Trump said.

He maintained that his administration had recorded significant achievements, dismissing the prospect of impeachment over his performance in office.
