2027: Tinubu Mocks Atiku Over PDP Exit, Calls ADC ‘Dangerous Camp’
President Bola Tinubu has criticised former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar over his departure from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Tinubu questioned Atiku’s leadership qualities, describing the ADC as a “dangerous AD camp” and accusing the former vice-president of abandoning the PDP over what he called a minor inconvenience.
The President made the remarks on Friday while addressing supporters at a campaign rally in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Tinubu urged Nigerians not to support Atiku in the 2027 presidential election, questioning his ability to lead the country.
“If a man who, once upon a time, was the baby of PDP, became a father of PDP, and because of a little inconvenience, ran away from that party and formed a dangerous AD camp in another party, is that a leadership trait? Is that a leadership character? And he wants you to vote for him?” Tinubu said.
The President also urged residents of Akwa Ibom to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the election.
He promised the state a better future, with investments in education, skills development, job creation and economic growth.
Tinubu’s remarks come amid growing political activities ahead of the 2027 general election, with Atiku emerging as the ADC’s presidential candidate.
The former vice-president has insisted that he will contest the election despite a recent Federal High Court judgment nullifying the leadership of the ADC under former Senate President David Mark and the process that produced his candidacy.
