Man Suspected Of Stealing FRSC Patrol Van Arrested In Abuja

Security operatives have arrested a man, Hakam Tukur, who stole a van belonging to the Federal Road Safety Corps in Abuja.
The suspect allegedly forced his way into the vehicle and drove it away from the parking lot at the FRSC Headquarters in Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.
It was gathered that Tukur was apprehended by policemen at Bwari, a border town located between the Federal Capital Territory and Kaduna State.
According to the DSP Anjuguri Manzah, spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, the police had swooped in to arrest the suspect after receiving a distress call from the FRSC Headquarters.
“In prompt response to a distress call received by the FCT Police Command’s control room, the Command on 5th September,2020 arrested one Hamisu Tukur 25 years at the outskirt of Bwari, for stealing a vehicle belonging to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Headquarters stationed at Sky Memorial, Wuse Zone 5.
“The fleeing suspect was arrested by the eagle-eyed Police Operatives from Bwari Division during a stop and search operation, following calls received from the FRSC Headquarters by the Command’s control room.
“The exhibits recovered from the suspect are: one (1) white Toyota Hilux-HQ-26RS and a single key,” he said.
The spokesman further confirmed that the suspect would be arraigned upon conclusion of investigation.
He also assured Abuja residents that the police was committed to protecting lives and property, and urged them to quickly report cases of crime.
