AFCON: I was anxious – Ghanaian ref speaks on Morocco vs Nigeria semi-final clash
Ghanaian referee, Daniel Laryea, has admitted he was nervous before the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations semi-final match between Morocco and Nigeria.
Laryea revealed this while speaking to reporters after arriving at Accra Airport.
He also denied favouring the host country during the game.
Morocco beat Nigeria 4-2 on penalties after the game finished 0-0 in 120 minutes.
Laryea said, “I’ve been to three AFCON tournaments, but this is the first time I’ve been in a semi-final.
“So when coaches choose you for that game, they know your skills and what you can do.
“But of course, you feel a little nervous because of the level of the match.”
