Botched Yola Party: We will bring sponsors to book — Police

By Emmanuel Awosika
The Adamawa State Police Command has said it will investigate a beach party, which was set to hold in Yola on January 3, 2021.
While public condemnation prevented the planned beach party from going ahead, the police in Adamawa said it would find out those behind it and prosecute them.
This was communicated by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Suleiman Nguroje in a statement.
Nguroje disclosed that the State Commissioner of Police had ordered an investigation into the matter, adding that anyone found involved will be arrested and possibly prosecuted.
“The Commissioner of Police has ordered investigation to unravel the sponsors and venue of the said beach party. The command will not allow any immoral activity that could cause public outrage,” he restated.
Materials promoting the beach party had circulated on social media, with the price of entry being pegged at N2000 per attendee.
News of the beach party had come as a surprise, as Adamawa is a deeply religious state with a high number of Muslims and Christians.
