Buhari laments “senseless” killing of Borno farmers by Boko Haram

The Presidency has broken its silence of the killing of farmers by Boko Haram members in Zambari, Jere Local Government Area, Borno State.
President Muhammadu Buhari condemned the incident, saying the whole country was left hurt by the what he called “senseless killings.”
He condoled with the loved ones of the victims and prayed for repose of the souls of the slain farmers.
Buhari’s comments on the incident were contained in a statement released by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity Mallam Garba Shehu.
The statement reads: “I condemn the killing of our hardworking farmers by terrorists in Borno State.
“The entire country is hurt by these senseless killings. My thoughts are with their families in this time of grief. May their souls Rest in Peace.”
Buhari also stated that his government had provided the national armed forces with the support they needed to do the right things to safeguard the nation’s population and its territory.
