Don’t post results on social media, NYSC DG tells corpers ahead of Ondo election

The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier-General Shaibu Ibrahim, warned corps members who will serve as electoral officers in the Ondo State Governorship elections to avoid flouting election laws.
Specifically, Ibrahim urged the Corps members not to post election results on social media, which would undermine the electoral process.
He asked them to emulate their counterparts who participated in the Edo State Governorship Election and contribute their bit towards an credible election process.
The NYSC boss said this while addressing youth corps on Friday in Akure during official visit ahead of the October 10 Governorship Election in the state.
According to him, the corps members must maintain the reputation of non-partisanship they are known for, adding that they must conduct their duties in a neutral manner.
“You should not compromise the integrity of the scheme and not post results of the election on social media,” the DG said.
Ibrahim further urged the corpers to be security conscious, adding that they must be aware of their environment at all points in time.
