FIFA reveals deadline for preliminary, final 26-player squads ahead of 2026 World Cup
FIFA has informed countries that will be participating in the 2026 World Cup when to submit their squad lists ahead of the tournament.
The final squad lists for the World Cup will have 26 players.
Each team is allowed to send in a provisional list that could contain up to 55 players by May 11.
This bigger list is to make sure there is room for any injuries, changes in performance, or last-minute decisions.
FIFA has, however, said the countries are expected to drop 29 players from the initial list by May 30.
The final 26-man squads will travel to North America for the World Cup.
The first fixture of the World Cup will be between Mexico and South Africa on June 11.
