 Former Imo gov. arrested for breaking into sealed estate

The former Governor of Imo state, who now represents Imo West at the Senate, Rochas Okorocha has been arrested for breaking into Spring Palm Estate, allegedly owned by his wife, Nkechi.

The ex-gov on Sunday had gone to the estate with his supporters, policemen, soldiers and personnel of National Security and Civil Defence Corps and ordered the unsealing of the estate.

The incident had resulted in the damage of vehicles, with people sustaining injuries as government officials were mobilised to the estate.

A spokesperson for the state State Police Command, Orlando Ikeokwu, confirmed the arrest of Okorocha.
Vanguard Newspaper reports that he would be charged to court tomorrow.

The Imo state government on Friday, had sealed up the Spring Palm estate, suspected to be owned by the wife of the former governor of Imo state, Nkechi Okorocha, built when Okorocha was the governor of the state.

The Commissioner for Lands, Enyinnaya Onuegbu, had confirmed that the place was locked down in line with the recovery agenda of the state government until further notice.
