A Farmer identified as Ridwan, in the Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State, was hacked to death by some herdsmen after his farm was destroyed by a herd of cattle.
Reports have it that on Tuesday, Ridwan’s farm was destroyed by a herd of cattle reared by some Bororo herdsmen, which led to an altercation between the deceased and one of the herdsmen.
Vanguard newspaper reported that a resident of the community, Oluwole Segun, said “The altercation snowballed into a fisticuff between the deceased and one of the herdsmen during which he hacked Ridwan and he died on the spot.”
Youths in the community were said to have caught and handed over the suspect and two others who were at the scene over to the police.
