‘I Didn’t See This Coming’ — Jason Derulo Opens Up on Being Single at 37
American musician Jason Joel Desrouleaux, better known by his stage name Jason Derulo, has spoken out about hoping to marry young, admitting that he never imagined being unmarried at 37.
In an interview with Graham Bensinger, the ‘Don’t Wanna Go Home’ singer bluntly admitted that his experience has impacted his viewpoint on marriage.
The musician stated that he has witnessed numerous breakups and uncomfortable situations between couples, which has made him wary of commitment.
“I thought I was going to marry a lot of the girls I dated. Never in a million years I thought that I would be 37 and single.
“However, I have seen too much. I have seen too much in my life. You could imagine the things that I have seen; married women leaving their spouses on the spot, leaving their men in the club. I have seen everything under the sun,” he expressed.
Derulo and fellow singer Jordin Sparks dated for three years, before ending their relationship in September 2014.
