A Kannywood actress, Rahama Sadau, has charged the Federal Government to stem insecurity in Northern Nigeria and elsewhere.
Describing the the recent killings of farmers in the North as “barbarous”, Sadau admonished the Federal Government to take up the responsibility of safeguarding lives and property of citizens.
The lightskinned actress made the comments in a tweet storm on Tuesday.
“The insecurity we (are) currently facing in northern Nigeria is uncalled for and should be dealt with immediately.
“The sole meaning of life is to serve humanity, but then how do we do serve life when we have lost all sense of humanity? It is barbarous!
“I call on relevant authorities to respond and protect us against the increasing number of violence against women and put an end to insecurity in Nigeria,” she tweeted via her verified handle @Rahma_sadau.
Sadau had recently been caught up in controversy after she posted an image of her sporting a backless dress with her hair uncovered, which was in contravention of Islamic law.
She received intense backlash from Northern Muslims with many making threats against her life. The Kannywood film industry also banned and blacklisted her for her actions.
The actress later deleted the images and released an apology video to her fans, restating her adherence to traditional Islamic principles.
