The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what it described as his visionary leadership in driving Nigeria’s technological transformation and positioning the country as Africa’s leading digital hub.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by the party’s spokesperson, Seye Oladejo, the Lagos APC said the ongoing digital and innovation revolution across the country reflects the President’s long-standing commitment to technology-driven governance and economic diversification.

Oladejo noted that President Tinubu’s current initiatives under the Renewed Hope Agenda are a continuation of the foundation he laid as Governor of Lagos State, where he first used technology to modernize governance, improve revenue generation, and enhance service delivery.

“True to his lifelong commitment to innovation and reform, President Tinubu is building on the same foundation he established in Lagos. That legacy has evolved into a national digital masterplan driving growth, innovation, and youth empowerment,” Oladejo said.

He cited the administration’s 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) Programme as a major success story, noting that it is equipping young Nigerians with digital skills in coding, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence, making them globally competitive.

According to the statement, Tinubu’s broadband expansion policy aimed at achieving 70 percent penetration by 2025—has already begun connecting millions of Nigerians to the digital economy. Other landmark initiatives, such as the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, the Digital Public Infrastructure Initiative, and the Nigeria Startup Act, are also creating a conducive environment for innovation and investment.

Oladejo added that the impact of these policies is evident in the growth of Nigeria’s fintech ecosystem, led by globally recognized firms such as Flutterwave, Paystack, Moniepoint, Andela, and Interswitch. He also highlighted government collaborations with global tech giants like Google, Microsoft, and Meta for digital training and innovation.

He said the ongoing digitization of public administration including e-taxation, e-governance reforms, and online business registration demonstrates the government’s commitment to efficiency and transparency.

“These deliberate interventions are not by accident but products of President Tinubu’s strategic vision to diversify Nigeria’s economy through knowledge-driven growth,” the Lagos APC spokesman said.

Oladejo further contrasted Tinubu’s forward-thinking leadership with that of opposition parties, accusing them of “remaining stuck in analog politics” while the President builds a digital future for the nation.

“The Tinubu administration is not merely talking about the future—it is building it, byte by byte, code by code, and innovation by innovation,” he stated.

He urged Nigerians to look beyond political distractions and acknowledge the silent transformation taking place in the country’s digital and technological landscape.

Under President Tinubu, Oladejo said, Nigeria is “not just catching up with the rest of the world but taking the lead as Africa’s digital vanguard.”
