Lagos Gov Sanwo-Olu hails Tinubu’s leadership as he turns 74
Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Chairman of the South-West Governors Forum and Governor of Lagos State, congratulated Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his 74th birthday, praising him as a patriotic and caring leader.
Sanwo-Olu hailed the President as a visionary and dedicated statesman whose leadership has fuelled development, economic progress, and restored public trust in government.
In a statement issued on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, the governor described Tinubu, who turns 74 on Sunday, as a rare personality whose contributions to national development remain significant.
He commended the President’s impact across politics, governance, and the economy, noting that his influence has been instrumental in the transformation of Lagos State, the South-West region, and Nigeria as a whole.
“On behalf of my wife, Ibijoke, my family, the government and people of Lagos State, as well as leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos, I congratulate our National Leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on his 74th birthday,” Sanwo-Olu said.
He described Tinubu as a seasoned democrat who has devoted much of his life to public service, adding that his record in governance reflects a strong commitment to national progress.
“President Tinubu is an enigmatic, tested and trusted politician whose democratic credentials and governance style underscore his dedication to building a better Nigeria,” he said.
Sanwo-Olu further highlighted the President’s commitment to inclusive leadership and national unity, noting that his policies under the Renewed Hope Agenda have positively impacted citizens across the country.
He also credited Tinubu with laying the foundation for modern Lagos during his tenure as governor in the early years of the Fourth Republic, a legacy he said has positioned the state as a model for others within and outside Nigeria.
“As President, he has shown courage, integrity, and patriotism in steering the nation through complex challenges, implementing bold reforms aimed at addressing economic issues and improving the lives of Nigerians,” he added.
The governor also prayed for continued strength, wisdom, and good health for the President as he continues to lead the country towards greater political and economic advancement.
