Lagos Police arrest man with locally-made pistol
28-year-old man, Balogun Faruq has been arrested by police in Lagos over alleged illegal possession of firearm.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Abimbola Adebisi disclosed this in an X post on Wednesday.
She said, “On December 24, 2025, at about 11:00 a.m., operatives of the Command arrested one Balogun Faruq, a 28-year-old male, at Ikotun Roundabout during a routine stop-and-search operation.
“A locally made pistol was recovered from him.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect was returning from a criminal operation and was heading towards Ayobo at the time of his arrest.
“Investigation is ongoing.”
Adebisi said the Lagos State Police Command is committed to combating crime and ensuring the safety and security of all residents.
