Lagos seals hotels, factories, lounges over environmental violations

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency, LASEPA, has intensified its enforcement campaign against environmental offenders, sealing multiple establishments in the Ikorodu area for persistent violations, including noise pollution and other environmental infractions.
The enforcement exercise, which took place across strategic locations such as Agodo Gas Line, Odogunyan Industrial Layout, Ita Oluwo Junction, Haruna, Ipakodo Road, and Ebute, targeted facilities repeatedly found to be breaching the state’s environmental regulations.
Among the affected establishments were Zero Square Bar & Lounge, Starex Poly, Oloruntele Poly, Limpex Resources, Skipper Nigeria Ltd, Star Rain Nigeria Ltd, NDO Hotel & Suites, Embassy Lounge, Beechwood Guest House, Obas Hotel & Suites, and A-Star Pencil.
Speaking during the operation, LASEPA’s General Manager, Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, reiterated the agency’s unwavering commitment to protecting the environment and ensuring a healthier living condition for Lagos residents.
“Noise pollution and other environmental abuses pose serious risks to public health and the overall quality of life. This enforcement action shows our determination to maintain environmental discipline and promote a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable Lagos,” Ajayi stated.
He noted that the operation formed part of LASEPA’s broader mandate to restore environmental order across the state, adding that similar exercises would continue in other parts of Lagos.
Dr Ajayi also appealed to business owners and residents to comply fully with environmental regulations, warning that the agency would maintain its zero-tolerance approach to any form of pollution or environmental degradation.
