The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has reacted to report that security operatives arrested three persons in connection with the attack he suffered on Saturday.
Three people were said to have been arrested by the police in connection with the attack.
According to reports, three Jukun fishermen were said to have been arrested at the scene of the incident.
However, Ortom, who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Tever Akase, refuted the claim.
Responding to an inquiry, Akase said nobody was arrested.
A text message he sent to DAILY POST, Akase wrote: “No fisherman was arrested, my brother.”
Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen had attempted to assassinate Ortom on Saturday.
Ortom was attacked on his farm along Makurdi- Gboko road when the incident happened.
