By Emmanuel Awosika
Police have arrested armed robbers who attacked the house of the late Moshood Kashimawo Abiola in Ikeja.
Reportedly, the robbers had raided the house, and carted away huge amounts of money and other valuables.
However, the suspects have been rounded up by the police force and transferred to the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) for further interrogation and investigation.
The late MKO Abiola had contested in the controversial 1993 Presidential Election on the platform of the Social Democratic Party.
Although he had won, the results were canceled by then Military Head of State, General Ibrahim Babangida.
The protests sparked by the decision had precipitated the country’s return to civilian rule, with MKO often called the “Father of Nigerian Democracy”.
