The Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has expressed deep gratitude to the people of Ibadanland and Oyo State for the warm reception given to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his visit for the coronation of the new Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, Arusa I, on Friday, September 26, 2025.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Strategic Communications and Media Relations, Bolaji Tunji, Adelabu described the turnout as an honour not only to the President but also to the entire nation.
He extended appreciation to the Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), party members, Governor Seyi Makinde, fellow governors, and members of the National Assembly from Oyo State for their support during the event.
“The coronation of our revered monarch was a moment of pride and unity. Yet one highlight stood out—the extraordinary welcome you gave to our President, which has since captured national attention,” Adelabu said.
He noted that the electrifying atmosphere from the President’s arrival reflected the unity and spirit of the people of Ibadan. According to him, the reception was “the warmest and most organic” President Tinubu has received since his inauguration.
Adelabu added that President Tinubu was visibly touched by the gesture, stressing that Ibadan had reaffirmed its strategic role in Nigeria’s political and socio-economic life.
Reiterating his commitment to national progress, the minister said the support shown would inspire greater reforms in the power sector. “Your encouragement motivates us to intensify investments in power generation, transmission, and distribution, so that the dividends of democracy reach Ibadan, Oyo State, and the entire country,” he said.
He concluded by offering prayers for the new Olubadan’s reign and for continued peace and prosperity in Ibadanland, Oyo State, and Nigeria at large.
