Suspected motorcycle thief burnt alive in Benue

An angry mob in Benue State set a man ablaze after he was caught trying to steal a motorcycle.
Spokeswoman for the Benue State Police Command, Catherine Anene, confirmed the incident in an interview with journalists.
According to Anene, the suspect had been overpowered by the motorcyclist whose call for help attracted the attention of youths in the area.
She said the youths, upon reaching the scene of the incident, had descended upon the suspect and set him ablaze.
Anene, who condemned the action of the youths, said the police could not identify the victim as he was burnt beyond recognition.
