2023: Igbokwe warns against northerner succeeding Buhari

By Rasaq Adebayo

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has sent a warning to the Northern Elder Forum (NEF) over it’s statement that the North will not relinquish power in 2023.

NEF spokesperson, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, had recently said that the North has the number and will produce Buhari’s successor in 2023.

Baba-Ahmed had said if a northerner emerged president in 2023, anyone against it should leave Nigeria.

Reacting to this on Wednesday, Igbokwe on his Facebook page said heaven will fall if another northerner replaced Buhari in 2023.

“Me- Hear me well, heaven will falloooo”, Igbokwe warned.

Meanwhile, most Nigerians have opposed the idea of the North producing the next president.

The southerners have been agitating to produce the next president, especially as the governor’s from the region met and insisted that the next president must come from the region.
