2027: Akpabio Claims Tinubu’s Online Critics Are Paid
Senate President Godswill Akpabio has alleged that some people criticising President Bola Tinubu on social media are being paid to attack his administration ahead of the 2027 general election.
Akpabio made the allegation amid growing political activities and criticism of the Tinubu administration as political parties prepare for the next general election.
The Senate President has repeatedly expressed confidence in Tinubu’s chances of securing a second term, urging supporters of the All Progressives Congress to remain focused despite criticism from opposition figures.
In July, Akpabio predicted that opposition parties would allege electoral manipulation if Tinubu won re-election in 2027. He made the remark while receiving members of the City Boy Movement at the National Assembly in Abuja.
He urged the group to intensify grassroots mobilisation for the President’s re-election, expressing confidence that Tinubu would secure victory at the polls.
Akpabio also criticised the use of social media to attack political leaders, urging supporters to concentrate on mobilising voters ahead of the election.
