 325 Nigerians Leave US As FG Evacuates Stranded Nationals

An Ethiopian Airlines flight carrying 325 Nigerian evacuees has departed the US for Nigeria.

Consular General Of Nigeria in New York, Benaoyagha Okoyen, gave the breakdown of passengers as; 128 males, 174 females, and 23 infants.

Okoyen, speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria, explained that 101 of the passengers were heading to Abuja, while the rest are bound for Lagos.

The latest flight is part of the Federal Government’s efforts to help Nigerians stranded abroad return home. It also brings the total number of Nigerians evacuated from the US to 1,739.

In line with the FG’s Covid-19 safety guidelines, the evacuees underwent temperature tests prior to boarding. Moreover, every passenger were required to present negative Coronavirus test results, among other things.
