Lagos Women Run 2020, Winner gets N1m

The Lagos Women Run 2020 is set to hold on Saturday November 21, with the winner taking home a cash prize of N1 million.
The General Coordinator of the Lagos Women Run, Tayo Popoola, at the Teslim Balogun Stadium on Tuesday, said that there would be a virtual and elite race.
“We have made all arrangements to ensure a safe race on November 21, for both the virtual and elite races,” explained Popoola.
“It’s the first time in Nigeria and indeed in Africa, so we want to make positive history that is why we have trained our local organising Committee members to ensure due diligence.” she said.
She also gave assurance of the strict observance and implementation of all COVID-19 protocols throughout the race.
The coordinator noted that, the immense contributions of the Lagos State government made the race possible, especially during a difficult period in the country.
According to her, the organising committee has ensured that all virtual runners in the Open category understand the usage of the App which would monitor their races as they run anywhere in the country.
The Run which was earlier scheduled to hold on 14th of November, 2020 was shifted to give the registered runners adequate time to get accustomed to the App which would guide them on how best to compete effectively.
The Technical Director of the Lagos Women Run, Olympian Yusuf Ali, also reiterated on the strict adherence to safety regulations by the elite runners.
