Court of Appeal upholds death sentence for Maryam Sanda

The Court of Appeal, Abuja, has refused to overturn the death sentence passed on Maryam Sanda, who was convicted of killing her husband, Bilyaminu Bello.
Earlier this year, the Federal High Court in Abuja had found Maryam guilty of murdering her patrner and sentenced her to death by hanging.
A three-man panel at the Appeal Court threw out Maryam’s suit on Friday for want of merit, and affirmed the death sentence passed on her by the High Court.
The slain husband is a son to former National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Haliru Bello.
