NIMC reopens Lagos centre for NIN registration

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has reopened its enrollment centre for the National Identification Number (NIN) registration, in Lagos.
The Lagos centre which was one of those shut down on Monday due to the large crowds that gathered without regard for COVID-19 protocols, has reopened on Tuesday, the Punch reported.
The NIMC had on Monday announced the closure of it’s enrolment centres in Lagos, Katsina, Ekiti, Ogun and Anambra states.
This was part of the measures to stop the spread of the Coronavirus pandemics.
The Head of Corporate Communications of NIMC, Mr Kayode Adegoke, had on Friday, in a statement announced the closure these centres till further notice.
“As part of the measures to stop the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic, the NIMC has ordered the immediate shutdown of all its enrollment centers in Lagos, Katsina, Ekiti, Ogun and Anambra states,
“The move becomes necessary to prevent our Staff and applicants from getting more vulnerable to the pandemic.” he had said.
The NIMC had suspended all enrolment activities, card collection and other identity related activities in the states till further notice.
