Lagos: Immigration officer’s wife abducted as kidnappers demand N7m ransom

The Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, Seme Command in Badagry, Lagos State, has confirmed the abduction of Mrs Ladi Abel, the wife of one of its officers.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Isaac Elijah, disclosed this in an interview with newsmen on Tuesday in Badagry.
According to Elijah, the 45-year-old woman was kidnapped on Monday morning along the Badagry-Mile 2 Expressway in Lagos.
She had left her residence in the Sawmill area of Badagry around 7:00 a.m. en route to the Trade Fair Complex to purchase goods when she was seized by unknown gunmen.
Elijah revealed that the abductors later contacted her husband, CSI Abel Mada, using her mobile phone. They initially demanded a N7 million ransom for her release.
“Today (Tuesday), at about 6:00 a.m., one of the kidnappers called again, reducing the ransom to N3 million if the husband wants the woman released alive,” Elijah stated.
He confirmed that the incident has been reported to both the Badagry Police Station and the Area K Zonal Command of the Nigeria Police Force.
The NIS spokesperson appealed to members of the public with any useful information to assist the family and security agencies in locating the victim.
He also provided a contact number 0808 088 3848, for anyone who may have credible leads.
