Seyi Tinubu, wife, conferred chieftaincy titles in Lagos
Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, and his wife, Layal, have been conferred with chieftaincy titles in Lagos State.
Seyi was installed as the Okanlòmo of Eyọ Ọba Alakẹtẹ Pupa, Laba Ẹkun, while his wife received a complementary title during the ceremony held in Lagos.
Congratulating the couple, Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Friday described it as a reflection of service, character, and commitment to culture and the people of Lagos.
“I warmly congratulate Barrister Oluwaseyi Tinubu on his installation as the Okanlòmo of Eyọ Ọba Alakẹtẹ Pupa, Laba Ẹkun.
“This honour reflects service, character, and commitment to our culture and people,” Sanwo-Olu stated.
The governor wished the President’s son continued strength and clarity as he carries the responsibilities and expectations that come with the new role.
The Lagos installation comes barely five days after the couple received prestigious chieftaincy honours from the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade.
On December 21, 2025, Seyi and Layal Tinubu were installed as the Okanlomo of Yorubaland and Yeye Okanlomo of Yorubaland respectively at a colourful ceremony held at the Alaafin’s palace in Oyo town.
