Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has congratulated President Bola Tinubu on his 74th birthday, praising his leadership and ongoing reforms under the Renewed Hope agenda.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Research, Media and Documentation, Adeshina Oyetayo, Obasa described the President as a pragmatic and purposeful leader committed to building a stable and prosperous nation.

He said Tinubu’s leadership deserved national recognition, noting that his administration’s economic reforms had begun to reposition the country.

Obasa commended the President for initiating what he described as bold but necessary reforms, adding that they had helped stabilise the economy and steer Nigeria towards growth.

According to him, despite initial challenges, the policies are now gaining global attention and acknowledgment.

He referenced a January 2026 report by The Economist, which indicated that Nigeria’s economy may be recovering, pointing to easing inflation, foreign exchange reforms, and rising external reserves.

The report also cited improved economic projections, including a 4.4 per cent GDP growth forecast for 2026 by the International Monetary Fund, despite global economic pressures.

Obasa said such assessments reflect growing confidence in Nigeria’s economic direction and urged Nigerians to support the President’s efforts.

He also called for continued public backing for Tinubu, expressing optimism that the administration’s policies would deliver broader benefits to citizens.

Obasa concluded by praying for good health, strength and wisdom for the President as he continues to lead the country.
