Nigerian football legend Austin “Jay-Jay” Okocha has reflected on his decision to leave Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for Bolton Wanderers, admitting that he did not conduct enough research before making the move.

Okocha made the revelation while discussing the major decisions that shaped his football career.

The former Super Eagles captain joined Bolton after spending four years at PSG, where he established himself as one of the club’s key players.

Looking back at the transfer, Okocha admitted that he could have approached the decision differently if he had gathered more information about the club and the environment before making the move.

He, however, went on to enjoy a successful spell at Bolton, becoming one of the most popular players in the club’s history and earning widespread admiration for his performances.

Okocha’s time at Bolton included memorable displays in the Premier League, with his creativity, skill and leadership making him a fan favourite.

The former midfielder remains highly regarded in Nigeria and internationally, particularly for his successful spells with PSG and Bolton Wanderers.
