ADC Accuses APC of Using Propaganda to Divert Attention From Tinubu’s Record
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of using propaganda to distract Nigerians from what it described as the failures of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
The opposition party made the allegation in a statement issued on Monday by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, in response to comments by the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake.
Alake had criticised the ADC, saying the opposition party had nothing to offer Nigerians.
Reacting, the ADC urged the minister to focus on his official responsibilities rather than defend the administration against criticism.
The party argued that allegations of misinformation against the opposition would not address the economic difficulties confronting Nigerians.
It said the rising cost of living, hunger and insecurity remained major concerns, accusing the Tinubu administration of performing poorly in the economy, security and governance.
“The ADC categorically rejects this allegation as an irresponsible falsehood, deliberately concocted to mislead Nigerians and distract attention from the monumental failures of the Tinubu administration,” the statement said.
The opposition party also challenged the APC to provide evidence to support its allegations rather than make claims it described as unfounded.
The ADC further expressed confidence that Nigerians would vote against the ruling party in the 2027 general elections, citing what it described as the administration’s poor performance.
The exchange is the latest in a series of verbal clashes between the ruling APC and opposition parties ahead of the 2027 elections.
