2027: Obi, Dickson meet Lagos NDC governorship candidate, stakeholders
The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, and the party’s National Leader, Seriake Dickson, have met with the party’s Lagos State governorship candidate, Funso Doherty, and other stakeholders ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting, which took place on Friday, focused on the party’s level of preparedness and ongoing activities in Lagos State.
Dickson disclosed this in a statement shared on his verified X account, saying the meeting provided an opportunity for the party’s leadership to review its preparations for the forthcoming campaigns and elections.
He said the Lagos State team briefed the party’s leadership on developments in the state, while discussions centred on strengthening cooperation among candidates, party officials and other stakeholders.
Dickson also called for unity among members, urging them to place the interests of the party and Nigerians above individual ambitions.
He said the party would continue its consultations, reconciliation efforts and engagements with various groups and individuals to address areas of concern and ensure that its candidates and members approach the 2027 elections as a united team.
The former Bayelsa State governor expressed appreciation for the commitment demonstrated by the Lagos NDC leadership and candidates, stressing the importance of collective efforts in building the party ahead of the elections.
