2027: Peter Obi says Nigerians deserve accountable leadership
Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, Peter Obi, has said Nigerians should no longer be subjected to promises that are not followed by concrete action.
Obi made the statement while speaking about his plans ahead of the 2027 general election.
He said political leaders should be held accountable for promises made to voters and should provide clear explanations when they fail to deliver on their commitments.
According to Obi, Nigerians need leadership focused on addressing challenges affecting their daily lives rather than making promises during election campaigns.
He said his approach would prioritise measurable actions and accountability in government.
Obi also called for greater attention to the country’s economy, security, education, healthcare and other areas affecting citizens.
The former Anambra State governor has continued to outline his political agenda as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify.
His comments come as political parties and candidates step up their campaigns and mobilisation activities ahead of the election.
