Adeleke comfirms fire incident at University of Ibadan

The Director of Operations of Oyo State Fire Services, Mr Ismail Adeleke, has confirmed the fire incident that gutted a hostel near the University of Ibadan’s second gate on Wednesday.The incident happened on Wednesday as fire consumed some parts of the storey-building.Some rooms and the roof of the building were destroyed by the fire.It was gathered that the fire started from one of the rooms upstairs and raged quickly.Occupants of the nearby buildings were said to have called fire fighters.Firemen from both the Federal Fire Service and Oyo State Fire Service joined efforts and fought the fire which raged through underneath the roof.The firefighters were able to put out the fire and prevented the entire building from getting destroyed.While speaking on the incident, Adeleke said investigations are ongoing in the matter.He said: “Our men just returned from the scene, and they were able to out the fire.“Investigation is still on going and the cause of the fire will be revealed as investigation progresses.”
