The state Security Network Agency codenamed Amotekun Corps, has arrested suspected killers of Ondo first-class monarch, the Olufon of lfon, Oba Israel Adegoke Adeusi.

The late monarch who was said to be returning from Akure, where he attended a meeting, was shot dead by gunmen at Elegbeka on the Akure-Owo-Benin Expressway in the Ose Local Government Area of the state last Thursday.

The security outfit also arrested 15 other suspected criminals in different flashpoints across the state under its “Operation Clean up” exercise.

The state Commander of Amotekun, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, announced the arrest while addressing newsmen in Akure.

The suspects were arrested, yesterday, by a combined team of security operatives that stormed Elegbeka Forest in Ifon. The identities of the suspects were yet to be made public because of ongoing investigation.

Adeleye stated that four persons kidnapped were rescued during the search in the forest for the killers of the traditional ruler.

“We were also able to rescue four other victims that were earlier kidnapped and held hostage in the thick forest around Elegbeka where the monarch was shot dead.” he stated.

Adeleye said the security outfit has commenced the ‘Operation Clean Up’ in the state. This, he said, is to “take the war against criminality to every corner of the state rather than wait for the criminals to come out.”
