Armed robbers attack bullion van in Lagos

Armed robbers attacked a bullion van on the Ado Road in the Ajah area of Lagos State on Thursday, carting away bales of cash.
Per reports, the robbers launched the attack on the bullion van, which belonged to Blenco ATM, 3pm on Thursday.
Eyewitnesses say the robbers fired at the vehicle but the driver refused to stop until he reached the nearby Blenco supermarket.
Videos circulated online showed the robbers firing bullets at the van to destroy the lock. Other clips of the incident showed a dead person who allegedly suffered gunshot wounds in the robbery attack.
Twitter user @Simisoula said: “Armed robbers just robbed Blenco’s ATM bullion van (Ado Road, Ajah) just now. Raining bullet with Blenco police. They made away with the money and scattered the rest on the road. People are picking money right now on the road. Pls stay indoors if you are in that axis.”
Another user @vlQtoOoR who witnessed the incident said: “From what I saw, these guys were in a milk coloured vehicle, pursuing a bullion van. They shot the tyres, but the van escaped then they hovered around Blenco area before entering the premises. I watched this from the seaside just opposite Blenco.”
The Lagos State Police Command is yet to issue a statement on the robbery incident as at the time of filing the report.
